Man arrested in connection with North East illegal waste dumping
The Environment Agency says a 32-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an investigation into illegal waste dumping at sites in Peterlee, Hartlepool and near Newcastle Airport. The agency says the dumps involved thousands of tonnes of waste and that enforcement action has already led to site closures and access restrictions.
