Another Successful RPSA Conference
13th Jun 2018
Alan Milstein opened the event with the Chairman’s welcome and a brief update on the RPSA. The day had quite a full agenda covering both technical and industry updates. Bronze sponsor, Paul Chambers of NAPIT gave a presentation on Competent Person Scheme and Certification for electrical testing. This was followed by Stuart Ockenden of Naked Travel showing an interesting example of a business incentive scheme.
Next up was our programme sponsor giving a presentation on the importance of having PI insurance and what to do should a claim ever be made. Tony Ginda of CABE, our silver sponsor was on next showing what CABE as an institution can offer residential surveyors. Matt Prior, MHCLG, rounded off the morning with an in-depth update on the review of the home buying and selling process resulting from the call for evidence earlier this year.
Kate Faulkner from Designs on Property started the afternoon’s proceedings with a review of the housing market in 2018. This was from a property consultants perspective. Andy Flook from Sava, our second bronze sponsor and Martin Beattie of NADC gave technical presentations on heating legislation and the importance of using a certified drainage contractor respectively.
Alan Milstein then put his Skyline Surveyors hat on and launched a new Buy to Let survey product. This is a survey specifically designed for surveyors to carry out on behalf of landlords. More info on this will follow soon. There was then an open panel discussion with Andy, Martin and Alan followed by a look forward to the next 12 months for RPSA.
Planning has already begun on next year’s event. Watch this space for more information.
