The RPSA is pleased to announce that our Chairman, Andrew McColl, has been invited to present both the Surveyor of the Year and Surveying SME Award at The Negotiator Awards 2025, taking place next Friday.
This marks an important moment for the residential surveying profession. For many years, surveyors have played a vital yet often overlooked role in the wider home-moving process. The introduction of dedicated surveying categories at The Negotiator Awards recognises the essential contribution surveyors make to raising consumer confidence, improving standards, and supporting a healthier housing market.
An Award Category Born From a Shared Vision
Although Andrew’s name appears on this year’s shortlist, he has chosen not to be considered. The creation of the Surveying Award category originated from an idea he shared with Grant Leonard, Event Director of The Negotiator Awards, to ensure that surveyors were given a proper platform alongside estate agents, conveyancers and other key professionals.
Through Grant’s enthusiasm and support, that early idea quickly developed into a fully fledged set of awards, now firmly embedded within the property sector’s national events calendar.
As Andrew notes:
“This award exists to celebrate the professionalism and dedication of surveyors across the UK. It was never intended for personal recognition, and I’m delighted to see our members—and the wider profession—receive the spotlight they deserve.”
A Proud Step Forward for the Profession
The RPSA warmly welcomes the inclusion of these categories and sees it as a positive sign of the industry’s continued evolution. Highlighting excellence in surveying not only raises the profile of our profession but also encourages best practice, innovation, and greater collaboration across the home-moving sector.
We wish all shortlisted candidates the very best of luck and look forward to celebrating their achievements on the night.
