Kelly Skidmore is a Chartered Builder with over 40 years of experience in the construction industry, including 14 years as an NHBC Building Inspector. A long-standing member of both RICS and the RPSA, Kelly is known across the sector for his quiet integrity, rigorous standards, and exceptional eye for detail—qualities that firmly align with the New Homes Quality Board’s code of practice.
As Chair of the RPSA’s Snagging Sector Working Group, Kelly leads efforts to raise quality standards in the new-build sector. He also represents the RPSA on the NHQB Stakeholder Forum, working directly with developers, regulators, and policy-makers to embed better practices and unlock new opportunities for independent snagging surveyors.
Kelly is the architect of the “Verify a Surveyor” identification initiative, a trusted system that helps reassure homeowners and uphold standards in an increasingly competitive field. Through this and other innovations, Kelly has helped make snagging surveys a recognised and essential stage of the new-build journey.
A proud advocate for independent professionals, Kelly is always keen to connect with fellow surveyors who share his commitment to excellence. Whether you’re seeking support, guidance, or simply wish to get more involved in the Snagging Steering Group, he’s always happy to hear from like-minded members.
