How to Join

Full RPSA membership is open to those who:

• Do you hold a BSc in Surveying, a DipHI or a DipRSurv qualification? Some other related built environment qualifications may be acceptable, subject to review.
• Are full members of CABE, CIOB, RICS or IStrutE.
• Degree-level residential Quantity surveyors (CICES, QSI)
• Architects (ARB/RIBA and other professionals in the residential building environment, such as CIAT.
• Building surveys who wish to join through the APEL (Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning) route - Candidates will be asked to demonstrate their competency through submission of 3 recent Building Survey reports for review, and subsequent consideration by the RPSA Council - a non-refundable charge of £495 plus VAT is payable for this review and assessment process. 

Technical RPSA membership is open to those who:

• Hold a qualification equivalent to NVQ Level 3 (or above) in a directly related discipline.
• Have an equivalent membership, e.g. TechCABE.
• Wish to join through the APEL (Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning) route* - Candidates will be asked to demonstrate their competency through submission and review of relevant inspection reports (£495 plus VAT). *Available Now.

RPSA Guidance for APEL applicants for TECHNICAL membership

Affiliate RPSA membership is open to those firms with 3 or more active surveying practitioners, where:

• 50% or more of the firms' active practitioners are individual RPSA members (Full or Technical).

Membership categories:

• Student - Free for up to 2 years. The member does not have the right to use the title MRPSA or to display the Association logo on their website or other documentation, but receives many benefits and support.
• Full - £180 per year. The member has the right to use the title “MRPSA” and to display the Association logo on their website and documentation, including survey reports. Full access to the RPSA Essentials suite of benefits.
• Technical - £180 per year. The member has the right to use the title “RPSATech” and to display the Association logo on their website and documentation, including survey reports. Full access to the RPSA Technical Essentials suite of benefits.
• Affiliate - £500 per year. The firm has the right to use the title “RPSA Affiliate” and to display the RPSA Affiliate logo on their website and documentation, including survey reports. 
• Lapsed - Lapsed members will be charged £50 in the 1st month for administration, if accepted to rejoin.
