Malcolm Hordern

Malcolm Hordern has long been one of the RPSA’s most dedicated contributors, known for his generous mentorship, hands-on involvement with events, and unwavering support for students and newly qualified surveyors. His depth of knowledge, quietly shared over many years, has helped shape the confidence and careers of countless members.

Malcolm is currently working in partnership with CABE as an assessor, supporting surveyors on their journey into the specialist residential sector under the Chartered framework—further extending his legacy of professional guidance and development.

Outside of surveying, Malcolm is a proud and devoted grandfather to his grandson, Jack, who arrived last year and now occupies pride of place in his heart. He’s also a fixture at his local pub quiz nights, where his encyclopaedic knowledge and love of a proper pint of real ale make him both a formidable teammate and a feared opponent.

Always ready to offer a word of encouragement or a wise perspective, Malcolm’s presence on the Council has enriched the RPSA over many years, and his thoughtful input continues to shape its growth and community spirit.
