Come and meet us at the Sava Expo - Coventry 6th October

Whether you are a longstanding member, newly qualified or considering joining the RPSA, stop by for a chat, ask questions and tell us what matters to you.
Taking place at the Coventry Building Society Arena from 10am to 4pm, the Expo brings together surveyors, trainers, employers and service providers for a day of learning and conversation. With technical and careers stages, an exhibition and the opportunity to earn five hours of CPD, there is plenty to make the trip worthwhile.
The technical programme covers subjects that affect our everyday work, from managing instructions and client expectations to new technology and professional standards. Following Hilary Grayson’s welcome at 10.30am, highlights include:
10.35am: The survey job lifecycle. A panel featuring Rob Houghton, Jamie Craddock, Kate Charrington and Matt Nally explores the journey from generating enquiries to completing an instruction.
11.20am: Heat pumps in practice. John Allen of Bluewire Hub explains what residential surveyors need to know.
12.05pm: Communication, expectations and claims. Andrew Peters, Hugh Riley and Richard Ballam look beyond the defect to the relationship between surveyors and their clients.
1.30pm: AI in residential surveying. Speakers from Infoshare+, GoReport and RICS consider efficiency, managing risk and winning more work.
2.30pm: Women in Residential Surveying. Founder Rebecca Freeman introduces the initiative.
2.50pm: Putting the RICS Home Survey Standards into practice. Tim Kenny, Kate Charrington, Alan Appleby and Tim Williams discuss their practical application.
The careers programme offers another useful strand, particularly for those entering the profession or considering their next step. Sessions explore the range of surveying roles at 10.35am, career diversification with retrofit and net zero surveyor Victoria Vaughan at 11.20am, and progressing from qualification with Pinnacle Surveyors’ Joe Ellison at 12.05pm. In the afternoon, Abby Raynor shares her journey to becoming an award-winning surveyor at 1.30pm, followed by Daniel Hopla’s experience of moving from Sava student to staff surveyor at 2.15pm.
Alongside the talks, there will be opportunities to meet exhibitors, explore services and technology, and catch up with colleagues. For us, it is also a valuable chance to hear directly from members about their work, their challenges and how the RPSA can support them.
