Growing threat of tenant fraud
A landlord survey reported a perceived rise in tenant fraud across the UK rental market, with many respondents saying incidents have become more common over the past three years. Reported fraud included unpaid rent, false identities, misleading affordability claims, unauthorised subletting and properties being used for criminal activity, often resulting in significant financial losses.
